Erroneous Tire Pressure Monitor (1PM) Warning Lamp Illumination
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves updating the tire pressure values in the Sentry Key
Electronic Entry Module (SKREEM).
MODELS:
2004 (CS) Pacifica
NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles equipped with Tire Pressure Monitor System (sales code LAB) built on or after July 10, 2003 (MDH 0710XX) through and including October 20, 2003 (MDH 1020XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Customer may experience 1PM warning lamp illumination when all tires are inflated to the correct pressure as stated on the tire pressure placard. The condition may be more frequent in cold ambient temperatures.
DIAGNOSIS:
If the customer describes the Symptom/Condition and the technician finds the tires are inflated to the correct pressure, 228 kPa (33 psi) cold, perform the Repair Procedure.
SPECIAL TOOLS/EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Obtain the vehicle Personal Identification Number (PIN) before continuing with Step # 2. This information is available from:
a. The original selling invoice.
b. The DealerCONNECT system under "Sales" or "Parts" tabs - select "Key Codes".
2. After obtaining the PIN update the tire pressure threshold in the SKREEM. Using the DRBIII(R) select:
a. "DRBIII(R) Standalone"
b. "1998 - 2004 Diagnostics"
c. "All"
d. "Theft Alarm"
e. "Skim"
f. "Miscellaneous"
g. "Update Pressure Threshold"
h. Follow the directions on the DRBIII(R). The DRBIII(R) will automatically update the information.
3. Using the DRBIII(R), record, and then erase DTC's.
NOTE:
If "PRNDL Message Missing", Vehicle Speed Message Missing", or "Initialization Fault" DTC's are present, consider them to be erroneous.
NOTE:
If DTC "Tire Sensor I Low Pressure Alert", "Tire Sensor 2 Low Pressure Alert", "Tire Sensor 3 Low Pressure Alert", or "Tire Sensor 4 Low Pressure Alert" return after erasing the DTC's, ensure the tires are at the appropriate pressure; 228 kPa (33 psi) cold. If the tires are at the appropriate pressure consider any of these DTC's to be erroneous.
