Service Procedure
1. Open the driver's door and move the driver's seat as far upward and rearward as possible.2. Lower the driver's door glass.
3. Open the hood.
4. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
NOTE:
To enhance customer satisfaction, remember to reset the clock when you have completed the service procedure.
5. Open the left rear door and locate the Seat Control Module (SCM) under the driver's seat and remove the SCM attaching screws (Figure 1).
6. Disconnect the SCM electrical connectors (Figure 1).
7. Remove the SCM from under the driver's seat and discard it.
8. Install the provided SCM.
9. Connect the SCM electrical connectors (Figure 1).
10. Install the SCM attaching screws and tighten securely (Figure 1).
11. Open the screw cover located in front of the interior driver's door handle and remove the trim panel screw (Figure 2).
12. Remove the screw cover located in the arm rest pull cup and remove the trim panel screw.
13. Disengage the push-in fasteners that attach the perimeter of the trim panel to the door panel.
14. Tilt the trim panel outward to clear the locator pins on the backside of the trim panel.
15. Disconnect the trim panel from the retainer channel in the inner belt weatherstrip at the top of the door by lifting while gently rocking the trim panel.
16. Move the top of the trim panel away from the door while supporting the bottom of the trim panel.
17. Disconnect the interior handle cable clip and pull the conduit end out from the bracket (Figure 3).
18. Disconnect the lock knob conduit end from the bracket. Slide the cable barrel end from the lock knob and guide the cable through the slot (Figure 4).
19. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the power door lock switch, mirror switch, power window switch, courtesy lamp, speaker and power seat adjuster switch.
20. Remove the trim panel from the door and set it on a clean work surface.
21. Remove the power seat adjuster switch module from the trim panel (Figure 5).
22. Remove the speaker/tweeter from the trim panel (Figure 5).
23. Release the barbs that secure the handle cup of the interior door handle trim bezel to the trim panel (Figure 5).
24. Flex the handle cup outward away from the trim panel and insert a trim stick behind it to hold it in position (Figure 6).
25. Using a screwdriver, partially push out the interior handle pivot pin and then remove the pivot pin with a pair of pliers (Figure 6).
26. Remove and discard the interior door handle.
27. Apply Mopar Lubriplate (P/N 04549615) to the outside pivot surfaces of the new handle pivot pin holes.
28. Install the new handle into place on the trim panel and install the new pivot pin (Figure 6).
29. Remove the trim stick and snap the door handle trim bezel into place (Figure 5).
30. Install the speaker/tweeter (Figure 5).
31. Install the power seat adjuster switch module (Figure 5).
32. Place the trim panel into position on the door.
33. Connect the electrical connectors to the power door lock switch, mirror switch, power window switch, courtesy lamp, speaker and power seat adjuster switch.
34. Connect the lock knob conduit end to the bracket (Figure 4). Slide the cable barrel end into the lock knob and guide the cable through the slot.
35. Connect the conduit end into the bracket and connect the interior handle cable clip to the handle (Figure 3).
36. Connect the trim panel to the retainer channel in the inner belt weatherstrip at the top of the door by gently rocking while lowering the trim panel.
37. Tilt the trim panel outward to align the locator pins on the backside of the trim panel.
38. Engage the push-in fasteners that attach the perimeter of the trim panel to the door panel using hand pressure only.
39. Install the trim panel screw located in the arm rest pull cup and install the screw cover.
40. Install the trim panel screw located behind the interior door handle and close the screw cover (Figure 2).
41. Connect the negative battery cable.
42. Raise the driver's door glass.
43. Verify proper seat adjuster and adjustable pedal (if equipped) operation and then return the driver's seat to its original position.
