A. Replace the PCM

NOTE:
The Powertrain Control Module is located in the right rear of the engine compartment, just in front of the windshield.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.


2. Remove the plastic grate located over the PCM.





3. Remove the PCM bracket-to-body mounting bolt (Figure 1).

4. Remove the PCM from the vehicle.

5. Unlock and disconnect the electrical connectors from the PCM (Figure 1).

6. Remove the mounting bracket from the PCM.

7. Remove the rubber bumper from the PCM case and discard the old PCM~

8. Install the rubber bumper onto the new PCM case.

9. Install the mounting bracket to the new PCM.

10. Connect the electrical connectors to the PCM.

11. Place the PCM into position and install the mounting bolt. Tighten the mounting bolt to 80 in.lbs (9 N.m).

12. In stall the plastic grate over the PCM.

13. Connect the negative battery cable.

14. Continue with Section "B" - Program the PCM.
