Keyless Entry: Testing and Inspection
VEHICLE THEFT SECURITY SYSTEM/SENTRY KEY REMOTE ENTRY SYSTEM
SENTRY KEY IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM (SKIM)/SENTRY KEY REMOTE ENTRY SYSTEM (SKREES)
Conventional diagnostic methods may not prove conclusive in the diagnosis of the Sentry Key REmote Entry Module (SKREEM), sometimes referred to as the Wireless Control Module (WCM), and the Sentry Key Immobilizer System (SKIM), sometimes referred to as the Sentry Key Remote Entry System (SKREES), the ElectroMechanical Instrument Cluster (EMIC), the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), the Controller Area Network (CAN) data bus, or the electronic message inputs used to provide the electronic features of the SKREES. The most reliable, efficient, and accurate means to diagnose the SKREEM, the EMIC, the PCM, the CAN data bus, and the electronic message inputs for the SKREES requires the use of a diagnostic scan tool. Refer to the appropriate diagnostic information.
