THIS BULLETIN SUPERSEDES TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 02-002-05, DATED MARCH 12, 2005, WHICH SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM YOUR FILES. ALL REVISIONS ARE HIGHLIGHTED WITH **ASTERISKS** AND INCLUDES REVISED REAR WHEEL DRIVE (RWD) SPECIFICATIONS, ADDITIONAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR SRT AND ADDITIONAL MODEL YEARS.

SUBJECT:
Right/** Left** Lead Revised Alignment Specifications

OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves adjusting the alignment to revised specifications.

MODELS:

2005 - **2008** (LX/LE) 300/Charger/Magnum

**2007 - 2008 L2 300 (China)**

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The vehicle operator states the vehicle leads to the right **or Left.**

DIAGNOSIS:
Drive the car on a FLAT road (**without crown or asphault ruts**). If the car tracks straight, the vehicle operator is experiencing crown sensitivity. If the vehicle tracks to the right **or left,** perform the Repair Procedure. Crown sensitivity can not be eliminated in all the cases.

NOTE:
Before evaluating the vehicle, it is important to check the following:

1. Tire pressure - Adjust tire pressure (if necessary) in all four **tires** to the pressure stated on the door placard.

2. Tire size & type - Verify that all four tires are the same size and type.

3. **Ensure all luggage compartments are free of anything other than factory equipment.**

NOTE:
When evaluating the vehicle, always drive the same road in both directions to get a feel for the effect of road crown, **rut wander** and cross wind.

SPECIAL TOOLS/EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:

NOTE:
**Ensure alignment equipment has been calibrated according to the Manufacturer's requirements.

NOTE:
The vehicle will lead toward the side with the least positive caster. CROSS CASTER (left minus right) for front end alignment: (Relative to Individual caster, the RIGHT side will typically be higher than the LEFT side.)

^ RWD: - 1.0 degrees and no more than - 1.6 degrees.

^ AWD: - 0.6 degrees and no more than - 1.2 degrees.

^ SRT: - 0.0 degrees and no more than -1.2 degrees

NOTE:
CROSS CAMBER (left minus right) for front end alignment: (Relative to individual camber, the LEFT side will typically be higher than the RIGHT.)

^ RWD & AWD: + 0.4 degrees**

^ SRT: + 0.30 degrees

NOTE:
RIGHT LEAD CRADLE SHIFT (Produce more negative cross caster) Utilize the cradle shift method FIRST. When shifting the cradle, the passenger's side of the cradle will move forward in car and the driver's side will move rearward in car. The target torque for the cradle bolts are 175 N - m or 130 lbs - ft.

NOTE:
LEFT LEAD CRADLE SHIFT (Produce less negative cross caster) Utilize the cradle shift method FIRST. When shifting the cradle, the driver's side of the cradle will move forward in car and the passenger's side will move rearward in car. The target torque for the cradle bolts are 175 N - m or 130 lbs - ft.

NOTE:
The caster/camber adjustment bolts only provide about 0.2 to 0.3 degree change and should only be used as a LAST RESORT. The castericamber adjustment bolt kit part numbers are:

^ RWD and SRT 05134117AA

^ **AWD 05161518AA**

CAUTION:
If the adjustment bolt is used, do not allow the bolt head to turn during disassembly or assembly. The cradle tension strut joint or the lower control arm bushing metal inner metal sleeve will be destroyed and require replacement. **TURN THE NUT ONLY DURING ASSEMBLY OR DISASSEMBLY. Once the nut is removed during disassembly, the bolt may be removed.**
