9913/9914 - TONNEAU COVER SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND





- When Monitored: Continuously, with the ignition on.
- Set Condition: When the Power Top Control Module (PTCM) senses the Tonneau Cover Switch sense circuit is closed with the Tonneau Cover locked.





Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding.

Diagnostic Test

1. Tonneau Cover Switch





Turn the ignition off.

Disconnect the Tonneau Cover Switch harness connector.

NOTE: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.


Turn the ignition on.

With DRBIII(R), select Input/Output Display and monitor the TON COVER SW SENSE.

Does the DRBIII(R) display TON COVER SW SENSE "UNLOCKED"

Yes

- Replace the Tonneau Cover Switch.
- Perform POWER TOP VERIFICATION TEST Power Top Verification Test.

No

- Go To 2

2. Tonneau Cover Switch Sense Circuit Shorted To Ground





Turn the ignition off.

Disconnect the Power Top Control Module (PTCM) C1 harness connector.

NOTE: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.


Measure the resistance between ground and the Tonneau Cover Switch Sense circuit.

Is the resistance below 100 kohms?

Yes

- Repair the Tonneau Cover Switch Sense circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform POWER TOP VERIFICATION TEST Power Top Verification Test.

No

- Replace the Power Top Control Module.
- Perform POWER TOP VERIFICATION TEST Power Top Verification Test.
