Tire Pressure Monitoring System: 8003

8003 - BATTERY LOW

When Monitored and Set Condition

- When Monitored: With the ignition ON, the Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) module monitors the battery voltage signal transmitted from each Tire Pressure Sensor.
- Set Condition: If the Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) module detects a low battery voltage signal transmission from one or more of the Tire Pressure Sensors, this DTC will be set.

Diagnostic Test

1. READING TPM DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES

NOTE: DTC 8003 will always be set in conjunction with one or more of the Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitter Low Battery DTCs. Either 8013 (LF Tire), 8014 (RF Tire), 8015 (RR Tire), or 8016 (RF Tire) will be set along with the 8003 code.

NOTE: The Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitters are equipped with a ten year battery. The battery is not serviceable, and the Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitter must be replaced if the battery fails.

Turn the ignition on.

With the DRB III(R), read and record the TPM DTCs.

Refer to the appropriate Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitter Low Battery DTC for proper diagnostic and repair procedures.
