1725-00 ALARM TRIGGERED BY TOW-AWAY PROTECTION





- When Monitored: Continuous with the ignition on.

- Set Condition: When the Central Locking Pump/Security System Module (CLP/SSM) senses a circuit failure.





Diagnostic Test

1. MONITOR THE CIRCUIT STATUS WITH THE DRB III





Turn the ignition on.

With the DRB III(R), monitor the Tow-Away Alarm Switch state.

Does the DRB III(R) display the Tow-Away Alarm Switch state as OFF?

Yes

- Go To 4

No

- Go To 2

2. DISCONNECT THE TOW-AWAY ALARM SWITCH

Turn the ignition off.

Disconnect the Tow-Away Alarm Switch harness connector.

NOTE: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.

Turn the ignition on.

With the DRB III(R), monitor the Tow-Away Alarm Switch state.

Does the DRB III(R) display the Tow-Away Alarm Switch state as OFF?

Yes

- Replace the Tow-Away Alarm Switch.
- Perform VTSS VERIFICATION TEST. VTSS Verification Test

No

- Go to 3

3. MEASURE THE RESISTANCE OF THE SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT





Turn the ignition off.

Disconnect the CLP/SSM harness connector.

Measure the resistance of the Tow-Away Alarm Switch Sense circuit at the CLP/SSM C3 harness connector.

Is the resistance below 5 ohms?

Yes

- Repair the Tow-Away Alarm Switch Sense circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform VTSS VERIFICATION TEST. VTSS Verification Test

No

- Replace the Central Locking Pump/Security System Module.
- Perform VTSS VERIFICATION TEST. VTSS Verification Test

4. INTERMITTENT WIRING AND CONNECTORS

The condition that caused this DTC to set is currently not present. Inspect the related wiring harness for a possible intermittent condition.

NOTE: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary. Poor pin to terminal connections can set DTCs.

NOTE: Check for any Technical Service Bulletins that may apply.

Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors specific to this DTC. Wiggle the wires while checking for shorts and open circuits.

Were there any problems found?

Yes

- Repair as necessary.
- Perform VTSS VERIFICATION TEST. VTSS Verification Test

No

- The condition that caused this DTC to set is currently not present. Inspect the related wiring harness for a possible intermittent condition.
