Power Locks: Service and Repair

STANDARD PROCEDURE - PNEUMATIC TUBE REPAIR

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

NOTE: If it is necessary to access conduit to repair the tubing, be sure to re-tape the conduit after the repair.

2. Access the damaged section of tubing and remove it.

NOTE: Be careful not to kink or twist the new piece of tubing.

3. Using tubing repair kit A193-997-52, insert a piece of tubing in place of the damaged section.

4. Spray each end of the pneumatic tubing with Mopar Silicone Lubricant, p/n 04318070, and push each end of the tubing 10 mm (0.4 in.) into the rubber splice connector.

5. Connect the battery negative cable.

6. If a pneumatic tube leading to a lock actuator was repaired, using the key fob, actuate the door lock button. Verify that all locks operate correctly.

7. If a pneumatic tube leading to the rear spoiler was repaired, turn the key to the "RUN position and raise and lower the rear spoiler. Verify the rear spoiler operates correctly.

8. Install any components that were removed or accessed.
