Repair Procedure
1. Disconnect battery.2. Disconnect both "S" clips retaining fuel tubes to valve cover (Figure 11).
3. Remove vapor return tube, hose (to chassis tube), fuel filter, and filter-to-carburetor supply tube (discard) - Figure 11.
4. Remove air cleaner and air horn gasket (discard gasket).
5. Install and position bracket gasket assembly (supplied in package) on carburetor air horn so bent flange points up and toward valve cover (Figure 12).
6. Reinstall air cleaner.
7. Attach reservoir to bracket gasket assembly using two hex nuts supplied (Figure 12).
8. Install 2-1/4" long hose (connected to reservoir outlet nipple) to carburetor inlet nipple and clamp (Figure 12).
9. Reassemble supplied filter to new tube (tube joining filter to reservoir), using two lengths of 1-3/4" 5/16" hose and clamp (one at each end of filter).
10. Place pre-assembled tube and filter in fuel tube "S" clips on valve cover. Connect one end of tube to reservoir inlet with supplied 2-1/4" long 5/16" hose and clamp. Connect filter end to existing fuel pump tube and clamp (Figure 12).
11. Inspect all hose connections to be certain they are properly positioned on the sealing beads and that all hose clamps are properly positioned behind the sealing beads.
12. Connect battery.
13. Start engine and inspect installation for leaks.
Type the Authorized Modification Label, PN 4274086.
Install label next to or near the original VECI label.
