PARTS REOUIRED

1 - Driveability Package PN 4293900

Package contains the following parts:

1 - 1.5" Vacuum Reducer Valve PN 4275688
1 - Foam Pad NPN
2 - Tie Wraps NPN
1 - Hose Routing Label PN 4179824

Must be ordered separately:

1 - Authorized Modification Label PN 4275086

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Remove air cleaner crossover and air filter element. Remove air cleaner box from engine.

FIGURE 1-B:

2. Drill two 3/8" diameter holes in the air cleaner box per attached drawing (Figure 1B). Hole locations must be as close to drawing dimensions as possible.
3. Remove the backing paper from the foam pad to expose adhesive.

Install foam pad in the air cleaner box per the attached drawing. The pads should cover the previously drilled hole in the air cleaner front face and provide a cushion for the reducer valve.

Make a hole in the foam pad large enough to pass a 3/16" vacuum hose through.
4. Remove existing hose from manifold vacuum supply to ESA/EFC module (or on models with a vacuum tee near the module, just remove hose up to the inlet of tee).

5. Measure the distance from the hole in the air cleaner (with the foam pad) to the manifold vacuum supply connection and cut a suitable length of 3/16" Bulk Vacuum Hose, PN 4105167, making sure there will be enough hose for proper routing.

6. Place the 1-1/2" Vacuum Reducer Valve, PN 4275688, inside the air cleaner box.

Route the 3/16" vacuum hose from the manifold vacuum supply through the 3/8" hole and foam pad into the nipple marked "Vac" of the vacuum reducer valve.

FIGURE 1-A:

FIGURE 1-B:

Draw the vacuum hose from the air cleaner until the reducer valve is firmly against the foam pad. Secure outside air cleaner box with a tie wrap (Figures 1A and 1B).

7. Measure the distance from the ESA/EFC vacuum nipple (or from the vacuum tee near the module) to the other nipple of the vacuum reducer (next to the foam filter) valve.

8. Cut a suitable length of 3/16" Bulk Vacuum Hose, PN 4105167, making sure there will be enough hose for proper routing. Connect the 3/16" vacuum hose at the ESA (or the "tee" near the module) and route it through the other 3/8" hole drilled into the air cleaner box (Figures 1A and 1B).

Secure vacuum hose onto the vacuum reducer valve at the nipple next to the vacuum reducer foam filter (Figure 1A).

Rotate the reducer valve if necessary. Route the vacuum hose and secure with a tie wrap on the inside of the air cleaner as shown on the attached drawing (Figures 1A and 1B).
9. Replace air cleaner box, filter element, and crossover assembly. Be sure the vacuum reducer valve is secure and there is no interference inside the air cleaner box.

10. Start engine and allow to fully warm up.

Reduce VECI label basic timing by 4~. Set basic timing to the new reduced specification using correct service manual procedures.

11. California Emission Only: Wipe existing vacuum hose routing label clean and install supplied label (PN 4179824) over it.
