VACUUM REDUCER PACKAGE INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Fold back the black convoluted tubing from the vacuum hoses attached to the vacuum coolant switches and cut the convoluted tubing approximately 3-1/2" back from the coolant switches (2" from the front clip holding the vacuum harness to the air pump pulley cover).
FIGURE 2:
2. Cut three 1-1/2" sections of 3/16" vacuum hose from bulk stock of PN 3780507 and install on the three nipples of the supplied vacuum reducer valve (see Figure 2). To the hoses just attached to the white nipples of the reducer, install the supplied in-line connectors with the large ends to the reducer hose. On the remaining hose, install the large nipple of the supplied vacuum tee.
3. On the vacuum hose harness of the engine, the convoluted tubing should just cover the point where the vacuum hoses are taped together. Locate the blue striped vacuum hose and cut it 1" from the tape band, between the band and the coolant switch, and insert the vacuum tee from the vacuum reducer assembled in Step 2 above (see Figure 2).
4. Locate the white striped vacuum hose and cut 1" from the tape band, between the band and the coolant switch. Insert either of the in-line connectors. Route the cut white striped hose attached to the coolant switch connector over the fuel lines and connect to the remaining in-line connector.
5. Start engine and allow to fully warm up. Check for proper EGR valve operation.
