This conversion procedure has been published for converting the emission control system on sold vehicles in 49-state use from the low altitude to the high altitude system.
The installation of a high altitude conversion package is voluntary and at the customer's expense.
This rework procedure is applicable to the following vehicles:
1. L.D.V. (Light Duty Vehicles)
^ Colt (NE model) 1.4L and 1.6L engine.
^ Challenger/Sapporo (YD model) 2.6L engine.
2. L.D.T.(Light Duty Trucks)
^ Colt/Ram 50 (SP27 and 27F models) 2.0L and 2.6L gasoline engines (except trucks with 4-speed manual transmissions).
^ Colt/Ram 50 (SP27 and 27F models) 2.3L turbo diesel engine.
NOTE: THIS CONVERSION PROCEDURE IS NOT APPLICABLE TO CALIFORNIA VEHICLES WHICH HAVE A HIGH ALTITUDE COMPENSATION SYSTEM AS STANDARD EQUIPMENT.
