Coolant Control Exhaust Gas Recirculation (CCEGR)

Some 1982-84 models using EGR are equipped with a CCEGR valve mounted on either in the thermostat housing or in the radiator. When engine coolant temperature reaches 120-130° F, the thermostat housing mounted CCEGR valve will open so that vacuum is applied to open the EGR control valve allowing exhaust gas to recirculate. On the vehicles with a radiator mounted CCEGR valve, opening temperature is 59° F.
