SYMPTOM/CONDITION

Subject model vehicles built before December 2, 1982 may exhibit the following driveability conditions:

^ Rough idle, acceleration sags, and poor performance when engine is cold.

^ Rough idle with engine warmed up.

NOTE: THIS PROCEDURE ONLY APPLIES TO VEHICLES WITH ESA/EFC MODULE PN 5213691.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. Install replacement ESA/EFC module.

2. Install appropriate carburetor from parts chart above, use new Carburetor Flange Gasket, PN 4095975.
3. Start engine and allow to fully warm up.

4. Check and reset basic timing, idle rpm, and hot fast idle per VECI label if necessary.

5. Type the following information on the Authorized Modification Label, PN 4275086 (Figure 1).

Upper Section

"Replaced ESA/EFC Module With PN 5213868. Replaced Carburetor With PN (from parts chart)."

Lower Section
