Choke Control Lever

Remove the tamper resistant cover, if equipped, by drilling out the two rivets. Place carburetor on a flat surface and disconnect choke diaphragm rod at diaphragm. Close choke by pushing on choke lever with throttle partly open. Measure vertical distance between top of rod hole in control lever and base of carburetor (flat surface). Dimension should be as shown in the specifications chart. Adjust by bending link connecting the two choke shafts. On 1983 light duty cycle models, adjust by loosening lever mounting screw and rotating lever to correct position.
If choke control lever adjustment is changed, the vacuum kick, fast idle cam position and choke unloader adjustments must also be reset.
