Thermo Valves

Vehicles equipped with the 4-156 engine incorporate two thermo valves for sensing coolant temperature at the intake manifold. When coolant temperature is less than a predetermined value, the valves close the EGR control valve to prevent deterioration of driveability and startability under initial start-up condition. When coolant temperature exceeds a predetermined value, the thermo valves open the EGR control valve.
