4A Checking Engine Crank Timing

1. Connect a suitable timing device to engine and check timing marks while an assistant cranks engine.
2. If timing device reads between 0° and 16°BTDC on 6-225/3.7L and V8-318/5.2L engines or 0° and 10°BTDC on V6-238/3.9L engine, check valve timing and compression.
3. If timing device does not indicate above readings, proceed to Step B.
