1. Scribe hood hinge outlines on hood, then remove hood.
2. Drain cooling system, remove battery and air cleaner.
3. Disconnect all coolant hoses, then remove radiator.
4. Carefully discharge refrigerant from A/C system, if equipped.
5. Disconnect vacuum lines, remove distributor cap and wiring.
6. Remove carburetor linkage, starter wires and oil pressure wire.
7. Disconnect and cap A/C lines and power steering lines, if equipped.
8. Remove starter motor, alternator, charcoal canister and horns.
9. Disconnect exhaust pipe from exhaust manifold.
10. Remove front engine mount bolts.
11. Install suitable engine lifting equipment onto engine lifting eyes.
12. Lift engine until front engine mount insulators clear crossmember retaining brackets.
13. Place a suitable jack under transmission assembly.
14. Disconnect clutch release mechanism and remove transmission to clutch housing attaching bolts. Move engine forward until drive pinion shaft clears clutch disc.
15. Remove engine from vehicle.
16. Reverse procedure to install.
