Suspension: Description and Operation

These vehicles use a MacPherson type front suspension with vertical shock absorber struts attached to upper fender reinforcement and steering knuckle. The lower control arms are attached inboard to a crossmember and outboard to steering knuckle through a ball joint to provide lower steering knuckle position. During steering maneuvers, strut and steering knuckle rotate as an assembly.

The driveshafts are attached inboard to transaxle output drive flanges, and outboard to driven wheel hub.
