Choke Vacuum Kick (Angle Gauge Method)
Choke Vacuum Kick Adjustment:
1. Attach a rubber band to the green tang of the intermediate choke as shown. Open the throttle to allow the choke valve to close.
2. Set up the angle gauge and set to specification, refer to SPECIFICATIONS for correct setting, based on carburetor number.
3. Connect a vacuum pump to the nipple on the choke diaphragm, and apply 18 in-hg. vacuum. The air valve rod must not restrict the plunger from retracting completely. If necessary, bend the rod to permit full plunger travel. Final rod clearance must be set after the vacuum kick setting has been made.
4. With the vacuum still applied, adjust by bending the link as indicated to center the bubble on the angle gauge. Remove the rubber band, close the choke valve, rotate the gauge to zero, and check to make sure the bubble is still centered. If the bubble is not centered repeat the procedure.
