Parking Brake System: Adjustments

Parking Brake Cable Routing:

NOTE: Service brakes must be properly adjusted before adjusting parking brake.

NOTE: Before loosening cable adjusting nut, clean threads with brush and lubricate with grease.

1. Release the parking brake lever then back-off parking brake cable adjustment so there is slack in the cable.
2. Tighten cable adjusting nut until a slight drag is obtained while rotating wheels.
3. Loosen cable adjusting nut until rear wheels rotate freely, then back off the cable adjusting nut an additional two turns.
4. Apply and release parking brake to check for proper operation. The rear wheels should rotate without dragging.
