SYMPTOM/CONDITION
Transaxle whine when acceleration or during road load operation at 30-50 MPH. No whine is heard when coasting.
DIAGNOSIS
Road test the vehicle and listen for whine under the above conditions. If the whine is a smooth light tone, follow the repair procedure below. However, if the whine is rough sounding and exhibits a cyclic noise variation, damper weight installation will not correct these conditions. It will be necessary to diagnose and repair the transaxle per the appropriate service manual transaxle noise diagnosis.
