VERIFYING OUR COMPLAINT

The first step in verifying the owner's complaint is to road test the vehicle, preferably with the owner driving the vehicle. Pay close attention to exactly what driving condition the problem occurs. Most complaints will fall under one of two categories; noise or shifting problems. In some cases you may find the owner's driving technique may be the cause of the complaint, such as:

* Gear rattle, shift lever vibration or noise caused by up-shifting too soon, resulting an engine "lugging" condition.
* Gear clash, caused by not depressing the clutch pedal completely, or improper sequencing of the clutch pedal and shift lever.

* Noise, caused by driving with the left foot resting on the clutch pedal. If the road test verifies the condition is caused by the owner's driving technique, review the driving procedures covered in the Owners Manual.
