SYMPTOM/CONDITION
Air leakage into passenger compartment through the fresh air vents, while in the fully closed position. The condition is most noticeable during cold weather while driving the vehicle at road speeds.
DIAGNOSIS
Road test the vehicle to determine if air vents are leaking while in the fully closed position.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
The following procedure outlines the modification of the cable mounting to insure a full close position of the vent door.
1. Remove vent cable assembly from vent by removing (3) attaching screws and cable clip.

2. Slot the three cable mounting holes as indicated in Figure 1. This will extend the cable travel in the closed direction by .2 inches (5.0 mm).
3. Install modified cable assembly and adjust forward against new slot edge.
4. Tighten the three screws and test for proper operation.
