SYMPTOM/CONDITION

Customer may encounter engine hesitation, sag (lack of power), or occasional popback (backfire) during light throttle tip-in. Condition may occur when engine is cold or warm.

DIAGNOSIS

Before proceeding to the repair procedure, verify the system is functioning as designed using the appropriate diagnostic test procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

This procedure involves replacing the engine controller (SMEC) with a revised engine controller.

1. Replace engine controller with appropriate controller as called out in PARTS REQUIRED.

2. Type authorized modification label, PN 4275086 as shown in Figure 1 and attach near VECI label.
POLICY: Reimbursable within the provisions of the warranty.
