Hesitates or Stalls on Acceleration

Definition: Momentary lack of response as the accelerator is pushed down. Can occur at any vehicle speed. Usually most severe when first trying to make the vehicle move, as from a stop sign. May cause the vehicle to stall if severe enough.
POSSIBLE CAUSE ACTION
Poor or contaminated fuel Check for excessive alcohol content
Recommend higher grade fuel

Fuel metering Check air/fuel ratio, (02 sensor voltage) refer to COMPUTERIZED ENGINE CONTROLS
Perform injector service, (cleaning) refer to MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES
Perform INJECTOR BALANCE TEST,
Check fuel pressure (check vacuum line and return hose), refer to FUEL SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS

Throttle body deposits Check THROTTLE BODY MINIMUM AIRFLOW, refer to ADJUSTMENTS PROCEDURES.
Clean throttle body, refer to MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES
