Throttle Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection
Throttle Position Sensor Test:
Slow-cut Solenoid Valve Test:
1. Disconnect the carburetor electrical connector.
2. measure the resistance between terminals 1 and 8 of the carburetor side of the connector. Standard Value: 3.5-6.5k ohms
3. Connect an analog ohmmeter between terminals 2 and 8 and operate the throttle valve slowly from the idle position to wide open throttle. The needle of the ohmmeter should move smoothly down to approximately 0.5k ohms.
4. If resistance is outside of the expected range or does not change smoothly, replace the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS). Torque mounting screws to 2.5-4.5 Nm (1.8-3.3 lb-ft), and adjust new TPS. Adjustments
