B Testing Park/Neutral Input


1. For vehicles with a manual transaxle, proceed to Step C. All other models proceed to step 2.
2. Connect diagnostic readout box to the engine harness connector and select test "Read Input States,"then choose "Park/Neutral Input."
3. Move gear selector from park to reverse several times.
4. If diagnostic readout box reads switch high and low, proceed to Step C.
5. If diagnostic readout box does not read switch high and low, proceed as follows:
a. Disconnect engine controller 60-way connector.
b. Inspect cavity 30 of 60-way connector for properly installed brown/yellow wire, repair the connector as necessary and re-test.
c. If cavity 30 of 60-way connector is satisfactory, connect a voltmeter to cavity 30.
d. Move gear selector from park to reverse, then turn ignition switch to the crank position.
e. If voltmeter reads over ten volts, replace engine controller.
f. If voltmeter does not read over ten volts, repair open circuit of brown/yellow wire between 60-way connector and start relay connector.
