Inspection

Clean transmission components with a suitable solvent. Use a clean shop towel to dry bearing and bearing races. Compressed air can be use on other transmission components.
Inspect bearings, shafts, thrust washers pins and other components for wear or damage. Inspect gears for broken or worn teeth. Replace if necessary.
