Dieseling/Run-on

SYMPTOM DESCRIPTION:

The engine will not stop running when the ignition switch is turned to the OFF position.




POSSIBLE CAUSE ACTION

Fuel solenoid circuit ^ Repair fuel solenoid circuit.
shorted to power




Fuel solenoid inoperative ^ Replace fuel solenoid. Service and Repair




Leaking turbo seal ^ Repair seal or replace turbocharger
assembly.





Excessive crankcase blow-by ^ Repair as necessary.
Check Compression





Governor out of adjustment ^ Do Not attempt to adjust the governor,
because the injection pump and/or engine
warranty may be voided if any of the seals
have been tampered with or removed. Replace
injection pump as a unit, or have a certified
diesel pump repair facility adjust the governor.
