Choke Breaker and Unloader Opening Adjustment
UNLOADER OPENING
1. Lightly press the choke valve with a finger to fully close it.
Choke Valve Clearance Check:
2. Starting with the choke valve in this position, fully open the throttle valve and measure the choke valve to choke bore clearance.
CLEARANCE 0.075-0.083 in. (1.9-2.1 mm)
Choke Valve Clearance Adjustment:
3. If the clearance is out of specification, bend the throttle lever, at the illustrated portion, to adjust the clearance to the standard value.
CHOKE BREAKER
1. Disconnect the vacuum hose (yellow stripe) from the choke breaker and with the engine idling, lightly press the choke valve with a finger to fully close it.
Choke Valve Clearance Check:
2. Measure the choke valve to choke bore clearance.
CLEARANCE:
1st stage 0.098-0.106 in. (2.5-2.7 mm)
Choke Breaker Rod Adjustment:
3. If the clearance is out of specification, remove the bimetal assembly and adjust by bending the throttle lever as illustrated.
NOTE: Before removing the bimetal assembly mark the choke housing for reassembly.
4. Connect the vacuum hose (yellow stripe) and measure the choke valve to choke bore clearance.
CLEARANCE:
2nd stage 0.126-0.133 in. (3.2-3.4 mm)
Choke Breaker Adjustment:
5. If clearance is outside of specifications adjust by turning the adjusting screw.
