Cylinder Head Assembly: Service and Repair

Fig 15 Cylinder Head Bolt Tightening Sequence:

1. Remove timing belt. Refer to TIMING BELT.
2. Remove camshaft and rocker arms refer to CAMSHAFT & ROCKER ARM.
3. Remove intake and exhaust manifolds.
4. Remove distributor.
5. Remove cylinder head attaching bolts in sequence shown in Fig. 14, then the cylinder head.
6. Reverse procedure to install. Tighten cylinder head bolts to specifications, gradually in two or three steps in sequence shown in Fig. 15.
