Ignition Control Module: Testing and Inspection

1. Disconnect the power transistor electrical connector.

Testing The Power Transistor:

2. Connect the positive lead of a 1.5 volt power supply to terminal # 1 and the negative lead of the power supply to terminal # 2 of the power transistor.

3. Check for continuity by connecting the positive lead of an analog-type ohmmeter to terminal # 2 and the negative lead to terminal # 3.
^ With the power supply connected, there should be continuity.
^ Without the power supply, there should NOT be continuity.
