The rear wheel service brakes also act as parking brakes.

The brake shoes are mechanically operated by an internal lever and strut connected to a flexible steel cable.

The wheel brake cables are joined to the front cable by an intermediate cable and connectors. The front cable extends to the parking brake mechanism.
