Subject: California Emission Recall # 286TVECI Label Replacement

Models: 1990 Plymouth Voyager, Dodge Caravan and Caravan C/V Vehicles Equipped With a 3.OL Engine and California Emissions System -- Vehicles Built Through December, 1989


Incorrect Vehicle Emission Control Information (VECI) labels were installed on the listed model vehicles. The State of California required Emission Control System Bar Code printed on the labels incorrectly indicates that the involved vehicles are equipped with an EGR system.

Replacement labels are being mailed directly to owners. The owners are requested to install the labels themselves or, if preferred, to arrange for dealer installation of the owner-supplied labels without charge.

Vehicle List

Each dealer to whom involved vehicles were invoiced (or the current dealer at the same location) will receive a vehicle list with this letter arranged in Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) sequence. Owners known to Chrysler are also listed. The lists are for dealer reference in arranging for service of involved vehicles as needed.

Each California Dodge or Chrysler-Plymouth dealer without a Vehicle List will receive an information copy of this letter by Compak Mail for use in performing the service on involved vehicles upon request.
