Condenser Fan Harness - Die Out With A/C ON/DTC'S Set

SYMPTOM CONDITION
Engine dies out or goes into "limp-in", when A/C is on, most noticeably when A/C condenser fan turns on. May set the following fault messages: Map pneumatic; Map pneumatic change; Map voltage too low; or Map voltage too high.
DIAGNOSIS
The vehicle must be idling at rest, with the A/C on to verify the die out condition. Since this condition may be difficult to verify, customers that bring this condition to your attention should have the repair procedure completed.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
This repair procedure involves installing a suppressed jumper harness in the condenser fan wiring harness.
1. Disconnect the battery.
2. Disconnect the two-way A/C condenser fan motor connector from the fan motor and remove the retaining clip from the fan housing.
3. Remove the insulator from the wiring harness end just removed from the condenser fan motor. Install the wiring harness insulator supplied with the jumper wiring harness, pay attention to the terminals original location. Use the Jumper Harness as a guide for proper terminal location.
CAUTION: BE CERTAIN TO INSERT EACH TERMINAL IN ITS PROPER CAVITY. IMPROPER CONNECTION CAN SHORT THE JUMPER AND OPEN THE FAN FUSELINK.

4. Connect jumper harness to the condenser fan motor and vehicle wiring harness, and clip harness to fan housing.
5. Tie strap the excess wiring to the A/C plumbing near the fan closure panel (Figure 1).
6. Reconnect the battery.
7. Start the vehicle and verify the proper operation of the A/C and condenser fan operation.
