Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

Throttle Position Sensor Removal:

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove air cleaner assembly.
3. Disconnect 3-way Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) electrical connector.
4. Remove the mounting screws (2), and remove TPS from throttle shaft.
5. Install new TPS on throttle shaft and install screws, torquing them to 17 lbs. in. (2 N-m).
6. Connect the TPS electrical connector.
7. Install air cleaner assembly.
8. Connect the negative battery cable.
