Fuel Pump: Service and Repair
REMOVALMechanical (Lift) Fuel Pump Removal/Installation:
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
2. Disconnect the low pressure fuel lines from the lift pump.
3. Remove the lift pump mounting bolts.
4. Clean the mating surfaces of the fuel (lift) pump and the engine block.
INSTALLATION
1. Install the fuel (lift) pump with a new gasket.
2. Torque the mounting bolts to 18 lb-ft (24 Nm).
3. Install the low pressure fuel lines.
4. Manually bleed the fuel system. Fuel System Priming & Bleeding Procedures
5. Connect the negative battery cable to the battery.
