Visual Inspection

A visual inspection for loose, disconnected, damaged, or misrouted wires and/or hoses should be made prior to diagnosing or servicing the fuel injection system. A thorough visual inspection will help find these faults and save unnecessary testing and diagnostic time.

VISUAL INSPECTION

1. Check secondary ignition cable condition, connection, and routing.
2. Check the ignition coil electrical connections.

Ignition Coil Electrical Connection:

3. Check the canister purge solenoid vacuum and electrical connections.

Canister Purge Solenoid Electrical And Vacuum Connection:

4. Check that the vacuum hoses are firmly attached to the vapor canister, and that they aren't leaking.

Vapor Canister Hose Connections:

5. Check the alternator wiring connections, belt condition, and belt tension.
6. Check that the vacuum and electrical connections are fully pressed onto the MAP sensor, and that the vacuum hose on the intake plenum is securely attached.
