Fuel Pressure Regulator: Service and Repair
REMOVALFuel Pressure Regulator Service:
1. Fuel system pressure must be released prior to service. Service and Repair
2. Disconnect negative battery terminal, and remove air cleaner assembly.
3. Disconnect vacuum hose from throttle body.
4. Remove 3 attaching screws from pressure regulator. Pull pressure regulator off of throttle body.
5. Remove gasket and O-ring from fuel pressure regulator.
INSTALLATION
1. Install new O-ring and gasket and press fuel pressure regulator into place in throttle body. Install 3 mounting screws and torque to 40 lb-in (5 Nm).
2. Reconnect vacuum hose to throttle body.
3. Reconnect negative battery terminal and perform fuel system pressure test to check for leaks. Fuel System Diagnosis
4. Connect negative battery cable.
5. Install air cleaner assembly.
