Axle Disconnect Housing Assembly

REMOVAL & DISASSEMBLY

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then raise and support vehicle.
2. Disconnect vacuum lines and switch electrical connector.
3. Remove disconnect housing assembly, gasket and shield from axle housing.
4. Remove shift motor shaft E-clips, then the shift motor and shift fork.
5. Remove O-ring from shift motor shaft.

ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION

1. Install new O-ring on shift motor.
2. Install shift motor into disconnect housing and through shift fork.
3. Install shift motor shaft E-clips.
4. Install disconnect housing assembly and gasket, ensuring shift fork engages groove of shift collar.
5. Install disconnect housing assembly shield and attaching bolts. Tighten attaching bolts to specification.
