Fuel Accumulator: Description and Operation

Fuel Pressure Dampener:

The fuel pressure dampener is a reservoir mounted to the return line after the fuel rail and the fuel pressure regulator.
The reservoir dampens pressure pulses by absorbing and releasing a volume of liquid fuel. This minimizes the pulses in the fuel rail caused by the rapid opening and closing of the fuel injectors.
