Fuel Pressure Regulator: Service and Repair
REMOVALFuel Pressure Regulator Location:
1. Fuel system pressure must be released prior to service.
2. Disconnect negative battery terminal and remove vacuum hose from fuel pressure regulator.
3. Remove the fuel pressure regulator retainer screw.
4. Remove the fuel pressure regulator retainer.
WARNING: Wrap the fuel lines with a shop towel so that any spilled fuel will be absorbed.
Fuel Pressure Regulator Removal And Replacement:
3. Remove the fuel pressure regulator.
INSTALLATION
Fuel Pressure Regulator Removal And Replacement:
Fuel Pressure Regulator O-rings:
1. Check that the fuel pressure regulator has two plastic spacers and that the fuel rail has two O-rings in the fuel regulator cavity.
2. Install fuel pressure regulator into the cavity in the fuel rail.
Fuel Pressure Regulator Location:
3. Install the fuel pressure regulator retainer and retainer screw. Torque the retainer screw to 60 lb-in (7 Nm).
4. Connect the vacuum hose to fuel pressure regulator.
5. Connect the negative battery terminal. Perform fuel system leak test. [1][2]Fuel Pressure Leak Down Test
