DISCUSSION


Beginning in December 1990, a new 0D/UD reaction plate entered transaxle production. There is no functional differences between the old and new plate. Although these new plates may appear visually different, they are fully compatible with all other parts in the input clutch assembly and are completely interchangeable with the earlier plate.

The hardening process of the new plates results in a blued/black appearance on the outer circumference of the plate, Figure 1. This blued/black condition is normal, and should not be confused with a damaged "burned up" plate.
