Removal

Fig. 6 Differential carrier components:

1. Remove drive line assembly, refer to REAR DRIVE LINE.
2. Remove overrunning clutch cover attaching bolts, then remove.
3. Drain clutch case fluid.
4. Remove clutch case to rear carrier attaching bolts.
5. Separate clutch case from rear carrier case.
6. Remove clutch snap ring.
7. Remove spacers and clutch, ensuring spacers and clutch in removal order for installation.
8. Remove clutch outer race snap ring, then slide race from shaft.
9. Remove clutch inner race snap ring, then slide race from shaft.
10. Remove dog clutch snap ring, then slide clutch from shaft.
11. Remove torque shaft rear bearing snap ring.
12. Remove torque tube attaching bolts.
13. Separate clutch case from torque tube.
14. Remove rear bearing snap ring at clutch case, then remove rear bearing.
15. Using seal removal tool No. C-4967 or equivalent, remove front clutch seal.
