Removal

REMOVAL

Pre-removal Steps
^ Remove the Hood.

Fan And Shroud removal:




^ Remove the Radiator.
^ Remove the Transmission and Transfer Case.
^ Release the Fuel Line Internal Pressure.

Engine Assembly R & R Part 1 Of 2:




Engine Assembly R & R Part 2 Of 2:




REMOVE
1. Air cleaner duct.
2. Accelerator cable connection.
3. Throttle control cable connection
4. Air conditioner compressor drive belt.
5. Compressor. Remove the compressor from the bracket and hook it at the body side.

NOTE: Move the compressor with the high-pressure hose and low- pressure hose still connected.

6. Power steering oil pump drive belt.
7. Oil cooler hose connection, (if equipped).
8. Power steering oil pump, Remove the power steering oil pump from the bracket and hook it at the body side.

NOTE: Move the power steering oil pump with the pressure hose and return hose still connected.

9. Auto cruise control vacuum hose connection, (Vehicles with cruise control).
10. Fuel high pressure hose connection.

Caution: Cover fuel pipe line with rag after relieving pressure as certain pressure may still remain.

11. 0-ring.
12. Fuel return hose connection.
13. Vacuum hose connection.
14. Water hose A connection.
15. Water hose B connection.
16. Alernator connector.
17. Ignition coil and power transistor assembly.
18. I.S.C. connector.
19. Throttle position sensor connector.
20. Engine coolant temperature switch connector.
21. Engine coolant temperature sensor connector.
22. Thermo switch connector.
23. Engine coolant temperature gauge unit connector.
24. Emission control vacuum hose connection.
25. Ground cable connection.
26. Brake booster vacuum hose connection.
27. Control wiring harness connector.
28. Ground cable connection.
29. EGR temperature sensor connector.
30. Oil pressure gauge unit connector.
31. Ground cable connection.
32. Heat protector.

Engine Mounts:




33. Engine mounting bolt.

Engine Lift Points:




34. Engine assembly.
a Check that the cables, hoses, harness connectors, etc. are all removed from the engine side.
b Slowly remove the engine assembly upwards from the engine compartment with the chain block.
