EGR valve loose or sticking 1. Check the EGR system under TESTING

Ignition timing Check the Ignition Timing under

Idle speed too low 1. Check and adjust the idle speed under
ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES.
2. Check the operation of all idle speed
control devices



Vacuum leak 1. Inspect vacuum hoses for proper
routing and damage.
2. Check the intake manifold area
