Power Window Motor: Testing and Inspection

Power Window Motor:

1. Remove the door trim panel. Doors
2. Disconnect the power window lift motor electrical connector.
3. Using a test battery, connect the positive (+) lead to one of the two window lift motor terminals.
4. Connect the negative (-) lead to remaining terminal.
5. With the battery connected, the motor should rotate in one direction to either move the window up or down.
^ If the window is in the full up position and the motor is connected so as to move the window in the up direction, no movement will occur.
^ Likewise, if the window is in the full down position and the motor is connected so as to move the window in the down direction, no movement will occur.
6. Reverse the battery leads (opposite to the position in steps 1 and 2) and window should now move.
7. If the window moved up or down, the leads should be reversed one more time to complete a full window travel inspection.
