Subject: Safety Recall # 300T - Transmission Wiring Harness to Fuel Hose Interference
Models: 1991 AN - Dodge Dakota - Pickup Trucks Equipped With A500 4-Speed Automatic Transmission, Vehicles Built Through August 21, 1990
Reference: Electronic Mail to all Dodge Truck dealers, September, 1990 on above subject.
The referenced Electronic Mail instructed dealers to correct possible interference between the transmission wiring harness and fuel hoses routed along the left side of the transmission on affected vehicles. The interference could cause abrasion to the wiring and/or the fuel hoses.
Notification letters are now being mailed to owners of involved vehicles for which the recall service has not yet been completed according to current records. The service instructions are repeated in this dealer notification letter for your reference, Important: Some of the involved vehicles may still be in dealer stock. Be sure to complete the service on these vehicles before retail delivery.

Note: No videotape of the service procedure will be provided with the Master Tech program for this recall because the requirements are easy to understand without a video demonstration.
Vehicle List
Each dealer to whom involved vehicles were invoiced (or the current dealer at the same location) will receive a vehicle list with this letter arranged in Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) sequence. Owners known to Chrysler are also listed. The lists are for dealer reference in arranging for service of involved vehicles.
Each Dodge or Chrysler/Plymouth dealer without a Vehicle List will receive an information copy of this letter by Compak Mail for use in performing the service on involved vehicles upon request.
Parts
No parts will be distributed for this recall. The only part required for this service action is a tie strap, PN 6016155 or equivalent. Use tie straps from dealer stock or order as necessary from a Parts Depot.
Owner Notification and Service Scheduling
All involved vehicle owners known to Chrysler are being notified of the service requirement by first class mail. They are requested to schedule appointments for the service with their dealers at the earliest possible date. A copy of the owner notification letter is attached.
Enclosed with each owner notification is an Owner Recall Notification Form # 83-295-0019. The involved vehicle and recall are identified on the form for owner or dealer reference as needed.
